My name is Ann. I am a Physiotherapy Resident. I was always curious about science and knew I wanted a job where I wasn’t sitting all day. When my mom shared her experience with physiotherapy, I knew what I wanted to do. Her physiotherapist took time to listen to her, hear her goals and develop an individualized plan to get her back to the activities she loved, making her happy. I enjoyed helping people reach their goals as a swim instructor. As a physiotherapist, I can combine that with a passion for learning about the body and mindfulness. I can’t wait to see you in the clinic and play a small part in your road to recovery!
My Treatment Approach
I use a hands-on individualized approach with education to promote understanding of your injury, body and potential. I bring an aspect of mindfulness to my practice creating a psychologically safe environment for questions, learning and helping me understand you. This environment allows us to optimize what we do in our sessions. Having gone through the process myself as I lost weight, I know how difficult making changes is. Daily changes are a key component of treatment. I hope to work with you to integrate exercise into your routine, make lasting changes for injury prevention and improve your confidence and ability to self-manage care.
Education
I graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science - Physical Therapy degree. I previously completed an Honours Life Science degree at McMaster University. I have taken courses in postural analysis, hydrotherapy and sports taping. Shortly, I plan to pursue acupuncture.
Personal Interests
In my time off work, I like to stay up to date with research, spend time with friends and family, hike, take landscape photographs and work out (aerials and HIIT).
